Wendy L. Fletcher
Wendy Fletcher is a Waterloo-based artist who has worked with acrylics, oil and multi-medium for the past two decades. exhibited in Germany, China, Hong Kong and Canada. Her work is held in private, university and government collections in Canada, China, the United States, the United Kingdom and Europe.
Drawing on the genre of Neo-Modern Expressionism as her frame of reference, Wendy creates paintings which use bold colour and symbolism to communicate meaning. Inspired most directly by the traditions of Der Blaue Reiter and Die Brucke schools Wendy believes colour communicates as deeply as form. Many of her works elaborate spiritual themes and are designed to elicit affective recognition of key dimensions of the human experience.
Wendy is a member of the Uptown Waterloo Artist Collective and her art is exhibited at the Uptown Gallery in Waterloo, Ontario. Visit their website for more information.
